In Vinci, a new space for tourist reception with a ticket office and information desk, dedicated to promoting the territory and the Leonardo Museum system.

Summary

On December 21, 2025, the new Welcome Center officially opens in Vinci, hosting the ticket office of the Leonardo Museum and the Tourist Information Office for information about the museum and the surrounding area.

The Welcome Center is an important new hub for visitors to Vinci’s museums: here you can purchase tickets, browse the museum’s bookshop for souvenirs, and get all the information you need to plan your visit. The Tourist Information Office, located within the same space, provides support and informative materials to discover Vinci, the places connected to Leonardo’s genius, and the cultural highlights of the territory.

The inauguration ceremony will take place at 12:00 PM in Piazza della Libertà, where the Leonardo Horse—an equestrian sculpture by artist Nina Akamu dedicated to the city of Vinci—is located.

During the day, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, the square will be enlivened by the Christmas Festival, with activities for families and visitors of all ages.

In Vinci, the 2nd Sunday of the month is LEONARDO SUNDAY! This month… a workshop inspired by the digital reconstructions of Leonardo’s machines! IN ITALIAN ONLY

Descrizione

Nella prima parte del laboratorio, bambini e genitori scopriranno i principali meccanismi studiati da Leonardo – come la vite senza fine, la biella manovella e il cambio a tre rapporti – osservandone da vicino i modelli lignei e provando ad assemblarli per comprenderne il funzionamento.

Successivamente, l’esperienza diventerà immersiva: grazie all’app di realtà aumentata LeonARdo, sviluppata dall’Università di Bologna, i partecipanti potranno visualizzare in 3D e vedere in movimento alcuni modelli della collezione museale.  La sfida sarà quella di riconoscere e selezionare i progetti virtuali che contengono gli stessi ingranaggi appena ricostruiti, collegando così il mondo reale con quello virtuale.

LA DOMENICA LEONARDIANA – I mandala di Leonardo

A Vinci, la 2^ domenica del mese è la DOMENICA LEONARDIANA! Questo mese...un laboratorio sulle misteriose figure geometriche di Leonardo! IN ITALIAN ONLY

Descrizione

Leonardo da Vinci era affascinato dalla geometria e dalle forme della natura, che studiava per rappresentare il mondo con precisione e bellezza. Tra le figure che più lo incuriosivano c’erano le lunule, piccole “lune” geometriche formate da archi di cerchio, utilizzate anche in motivi decorativi e architettonici. A stimolare il suo interesse per questi studi fu anche il suo amico matematico Luca Pacioli, con cui condivise la passione per la matematica e le meraviglie delle forme.

In questa Domenica Leonardiana scopriremo insieme il mondo delle lunule e dei mandala, disegni circolari che, come le lunule, esprimono armonia e simmetria. Dopo una breve introduzione guidata, le famiglie saranno coinvolte in un’attività pratica per creare il proprio mandala, sperimentando con il compasso, le linee e i colori.

Descrizione

Al centro di questo appuntamento, dedicato ai più piccoli, ci sarà una delle favole di Leonardo, Il ragno e l’uva, che sarà raccontata attraverso il teatro di immagini giapponese del kamishibai: protagonista è un astuto ragnetto che, a causa della sua ingordigia, si troverà in una brutta situazione.

 

Leonardo era un grande osservatore e appassionato della natura: non tralasciava nulla, nemmeno i più piccoli insetti che popolano la terra. Dopo che avremo visto quali sono, i partecipanti si cimenteranno nella creazione di un grappolo d’uva e del furbo e avido ragnetto protagonista della favola!

Counts Guidi's castle and panoramic tower open for free

Overview

On August 10th, to celebrate the magical Night of San Lorenzo, the town of Vinci will come alive with emotions and fragrances during Calici di Stelle, one of the most eagerly awaited wine events of the summer.

On this special occasion, the Leonardo Museum will open its doors for free during extended evening hours, offering visitors the chance to explore the rooms that tell the story of Leonardo da Vinci’s universal genius right in his hometown. A unique opportunity to admire up close the models of his machines and projects—testimonies of his extraordinary creativity—in a setting full of charm and history.

From the panoramic terrace of the castle, visitors can enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of Vinci: from here, it will be possible to observe the stars in collaboration with the experts from the Beppe Forti Observatory in Montelupo Fiorentino.

Descrizione

Leonardo da Vinci osservava con attenzione ogni tipo di volatile e nel suo Codice sul volo degli uccelli annotava pensieri e schizzi, cercando di comprendere i principi che regolano il movimento delle ali in aria. Ampliando le sue riflessioni a tutta la natura, si rese conto che anche la samara, il seme alato dell’acero, era capace di planare e vorticare nell’aria con eleganza.

Proprio da qui partirà l’appuntamento della Domenica Leonardiana di agosto, dove i giovani partecipanti costruiranno una farfalla meccanica che spiccherà il volo con l’aiuto di un semplice elastico: un piccolo espediente che ricreerà il movimento della samara o di certi insetti volanti.

Con semplici materiali –  cartoncino, elastici, colla – e l’aiuto dell’operatore, ogni bambino potrà assemblare e decorare la propria farfalla, imparando al tempo stesso il funzionamento di concetti come energia potenziale, energia cinetica ed energia elastica.
